There is a lot of good I can say about Disney Cruises. One, they’re incredibly adult AND kid friendly. Two, they are worth every penny you spend on them. Three, they’re so fun and so magical… I could go on and on.

I do know that there are several things that turn people off of Disney Cruises, such as the price and the fact that it’s DISNEY, which always means KIDS. Maybe those are some of your turn-off’s. I like to think of those things as minor details, honestly 😉 Either way, allow me to assist you in your decision-making process…
You may be wondering, “Is a Disney Cruise REALLY right for me?”
Well…
Are you obsessed with Disney movies?
Not only do they often premiere new Disney movies on the ships BEFORE they come out in theaters, but you can enjoy all the newest Disney movies throughout the day every day in the Buena Vista Theater! AND you can catch some of your favorite classics out on the big screen by the pool! Oh and also, you can watch TONS of Disney movies, new AND classic, on the TV in your stateroom. All for free!

Do you love getting to meet and hang out with your favorite Disney characters?
All your favorite characters are on board Disney Cruises! Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Pluto, Belle, Cinderella, Tiana, Elsa, Anna, Peter Pan, Tinkerbell, and so many more! You’ll have the opportunity to meet ALL of them during your cruise! And trust me- the lines to meet these characters are waaaaay shorter than at Disney World!

Are you a foodie, or someone who just likes to eat really good food all day long?
All your meals are included in the price of your cruise. That’s right, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and all the snacking in between are basically ~free~ while you’re sailing! This excludes specialty dining at places like Palo, alcoholic drinks and other specialty beverages, and treats at the specialty shops like Sweet on You on the Fantasy. Other than that, you’ll find buffets and quick service meals all day long, plus a special fine dining experience in one of your ships’ three dining rooms each night! You’ll get to enjoy a different menu at a different dining room every single night! The food is phenomenal. You can even order room service at no additional cost (except for a tip, which is not required but highly encouraged)! You can enjoy breakfast and lunch (and even dinner if you don’t want to visit the dining rooms) at Cabanas every day! You can eat burgers, pizza, salads, and sandwiches at Flo’s Cafe on the Fantasy and Dream. You can eat at the special buffets that pop up in the dining rooms during the day. The possibilities are endless! You’ll NEVER go hungry with all the many options a Disney Cruise offers!

Are you into free sodas and ice cream all day long?
That’s right, not only is all the food ~free~, but you can also get free sodas all day long! You don’t even have to buy a drink plan to be able to enjoy all-you-can-drink Cokes, Sprites, and other bubbly favorites! AND you can stop by Eye Scream Treats throughout the day to get FREE and UNLIMITED soft serve ice cream cones!

Do you love getting to watch Broadway-style shows?
Every night at the Walt Disney Theatre on your ship, you can enjoy a different Broadway-style show! The productions are always elaborate and very entertaining. Did I mention that this is included in the cost? There’s no additional charge to seeing a theater performance on these cruise ships! You can pick up some snacks and drinks outside the theater in Preludes before the show, or enjoy the wait-staff service that will come by your seat and take an order for you!

Do you enjoy having fun activities to choose from and do every day?
Every day on the ship is a new day for activities. You’ll find various types of trivia (music, movies, Disney, etc), towel folding classes, drawing classes, craft activities such as tile coaster making and scrapbooking, karaoke, dance parties, variety shows, musical performances, game shows, Bingo, meetups, sunrise yoga, character meet and greets, Pirate parties… the list goes on! Every single day is different, and every day is PACKED with fun things to do from before sunrise until well into the night.

Are you looking for something that will be extremely fun for the whole family?
With so many adults-only clubs and activities, the Oceaneer clubs for kids, teen and preteen lounges, and even a themed nursery for babies, there isn’t a single second for anyone to get “bored.” There are fun family activities all during the day, and many places for families to all hang out and enjoy each other’s company. And if you want to be apart, because let’s face it, 7 days of non-stop togetherness CAN get a bit overwhelming, Disney has places for everyone to go separately and have fun!

Are you looking for something that will be extremely fun for adults?
Everyone thinks that Disney Cruises are just for families with kids, but that is NOT true! Each sailing hosts TONS of fun activities for adults, too! You can go almost the entire trip and never see a kid (that’s not true, but you get what I mean!). There are adults-only activities all day long, such as variety shows (comedy, magic), trivia, lounges, alcohol classes (mixology where you can learn how to mix drinks, wine tastings, beer tastings, tequila tastings), the adults-only pool and spa areas… There’s honestly TOO much fun for adults! There were 9 of us adults and no kids in my group during our last family cruise. We had the BEST time.

Do you like to relax by the pool or at a nice spa?
Senses Spa on the cruise ships is probably my favorite place. They offer many different services, and the facility is always so nice, clean, and accommodating. Plus the pools (yes, even the family pools) are so clean and relaxing. The pools in the adult-only area are juuuuust a slight bit more appealing to me, but the family pools are very well maintained. There are plenty of chairs you can lounge in spanning across multiple decks on each ship. We’ve never struggled to find a place to sit and hang out!

Do you enjoy the sound of the ocean and the gentle rocking motion of the waves?
I don’t know about you, but there’s something about that gentle motion of the ship rocking back and forth with the natural sound of the waves crashing against the ship that is just so calming and peaceful when I’m going to sleep. Granted, there are some times when those waves can get rough, but honestly, in all the times I’ve cruised with Disney, it’s never been too much to handle.

Do you like visiting different countries and seeing the world?
Not only do you get to visit a different country while on your cruising vacation, but often you’ll get to visit MULTIPLE! If seeing the world is appealing to you, a Disney Cruise is the way to go. They provide many different types of fun and safe excursions for you and your family to go on and explore the different countries. I’m not gonna lie, some of the countries are not the absolute safest, BUT if you book your excursion through Disney Cruise Line, chances are you’ll be in MUCH safer hands.

Do you like PRIVATE islands?
Disney owns a private island called Castaway Cay, and it’s honestly the greatest place in the world. You can only get to the island by way of Disney Cruise, and there’s only one ship there at a time. It is in the Bahamas and absolutely gorgeous. There are several shops on the island, and several restaurants and bars (which, just like on the ship, all the food is already paid for and included in the cost of your trip)! They have tons of family activities and excursions you can go on, a huuuuuge family beach, a private adult-only beach (with a private adults-only restaurant to have lunch at), private family cabanas you can rent, snorkels and goggles for rent, bikes for rent, tubes for rent… the list goes on! They have tons of activities and entertainment, and they even host a 5K! I can’t say enough good stuff about Castaway Cay. I could honestly write a whole entire blog post on this island alone (if fact, I think I will!)
