It may be too late for you to plan a trip this Holiday season, or maybe you’re super spontaneous and think “THERE’S STILL TIME! I’m gonna book a trip for next week!” Either way, I want to share with you my top reasons for why you ABSOLUTELY SHOULD be going to Walt Disney World during the holiday season!

So yes, Halloween is considered a super major important holiday in my book, HOWEVER, this post is just focusing on the Christmas holiday season- so, November through January.

5. Milder Weather
So it’s no surprise to any of us that November-January are going to be much better temperature-wise for central Florida. Sometimes it even drops down to what might be considered “cold” in Florida- 50’s and 60’s. I know that for many parts of the world, that’s pretty warm. But when you’re in Florida where the typical weather is 80’s/90’s, hot, and humid, the 60’s feel REAL chilly. It feels really nice walking around in mild temperatures and not sweating profusely!

4. Resort Decorations
All the resorts get uniquely decorated during the holidays. Many of them even include special gingerbread displays! One of my favorite FREE activities to do during the holidays is resort hop to check out all the wonderful decorations. If you don’t have time to visit ALL the resorts, definitely check out the deluxe resorts. They have some very magnificent displays AND they’re usually much easier to get to via the free Disney transportation. Most of the deluxe resorts have multiple forms of transportation, whether that be bus, monorail, boat, or Skyliner. I highly recommend taking some time to view all the beautiful displays!

3. Park Decorations
Just like the resorts, all the parks get uniquely decorated! The decorations are themed to each park and are nothing short of magnificent. The trees in each park are HUGE, the decorations are gorgeous, and all the parks even include fun and special holiday treats! Disney Springs even has a tree trail that’s really cool to see. The tree trail contains 22 Disney-themed trees that are so stunning!

2. Festival of the Holidays
Epcot’s Festival of the Holidays is a fun experience where you can learn about all the holiday traditions from different cultures around the world. You can go and see EVERY country’s musical production, try some international treats, and learn all about their fun traditions. Epcot even has a cookie stroll where you can go and try lots of different Christmas cookies! A guest favorite is the Candlelight Processional, where you can go and hear the Christmas story narrated by celebrity guest speakers accompanied by a choir and orchestra. This festival truly is a must-do!

1. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party
I love love LOVE the Very Merry Christmas Party! Included in the cost of the party is unlimited hot chocolate, egg nog, cookies, and snowman pretzels all over the Magic Kingdom! They have a special party-exclusive fireworks show and parade! I REALLY love the Once Upon a Christmastime parade. It’s so magical! It’s also just really fun to go around the park eating and drinking holiday treats, ride less-crowded rides, and enjoy some SNOW on Main Street! The atmosphere is so magical, you have the opportunity to meet lots of fun (and exclusive!) characters, and you get to enjoy a less-crowded Magic Kingdom. This is something that is worth the extra money, in my opinion.

Weather you’re planning a trip for next holiday season or even next week, I just want you to know IT IS WORTH IT TO GO!!!! Everyone gets nervous going during the holiday season because of crowd levels, but let’s be real- Disney is crowded 365 days a year. There’s really no beating the crowds anymore. They’re always going to be there. You just have to be aware of that and prepared for it going in so that the crowd levels aren’t such a burden! Go into your trip with a reasonable plan, and go with the flow once you get there. I promise it’s worth it!

Do you love visiting WDW during the holidays? What’s your favorite thing to do? Let me know! I’d love to hear all about your favorite WDW holiday memories!
