For today’s Tuesday Disney Tips I wanted to talk about making three lists that will help you with planning and making the most of your time.

You’ll want to do this for rides/attractions, food, shopping, photo spots- whatever the most important for you!

You will make these three lists for each aspect of your trip that is important to you:
Must Do
Like To Do
Do If There Is Time

These lists need to be realistic meaning that you can’t put everything on the Must Do list. If it’s a super busy time of year, realistically you won’t have time to wait in like for every single ride at Magic Kingdom. There’s just too many! Have a realistic idea of how long it takes to wait in line and do each ride (currently, we’ve experienced about 15-25 minute wait times for all rides, including those that are posted 50+ minutes. The exception to this was Flight of Passage in Animal Kingdom.)

Not sure what realistic times look like? See the list at the end of this post for the duration of each ride or attraction!

Here’s an example of what these lists would look like for me in terms of rides/attractions when visiting Epcot.

Once you’ve determined the things you really want to do and have an idea of how long that thing will take, you can start to effectively plan your day around your must-do’s! You can sprinkle in your “like to do’s” if your must do’s take way less time than you thought OR you can just keep circling the parks 2-3 times, checking off each item on your lists as you go (starting with the must do list, then the like to do list, then the do if time list).

When planning food, I would budget in about 10 minutes to order and wait for the food to be made at quick service places. They have you mobile order now, but it took about 7-10 minutes to decide what we wanted, place the order, mark that we were “here,” then wait for them to notify us that our food was ready. (It may be longer or shorter depending on the time of day you decide to eat). Eating will take you anywhere from 15-30 minutes depending on how quickly you eat.

When going to a table service restaurant, I would budge in about an hour to an hour and a half for your eat time. Again, it may be longer or shorter depending on when you eat.

For snack ordering and eating, I would say that will take you no more than about 10 minutes to order and eat.

Hopefully you find this tip and time-planning guide helpful for when you’re planning out your next trip to Walt Disney World!

Here’s a list of how long each ride and attraction is. I would take this into consideration then budget about 25 minutes of wait time for each (some will take waaaaay shorter, and some will be longer! That’s why you will want to use an average.)
